Bart has been involved at various levels in the professional race community for many years. He began his racing career riding motorcycles for the first five years. He then went on to drive stock cars for two years, and has been involved in NHRA sanctioned racing for the past several years.

In 1997, Bart decided to try out the Competition Eliminator category. Success came quickly, with Bart driving his Pontiac Grand Prix to a win in Competition Eliminator at the ATSCO Nationals in February 1998.

In April 1998, Bart moved up into the Pro Stock Truck category, and in 1999 Greg Stanfield joined Bart and his DBP Enterprises team to make a two truck race team. Bart finished the 2000 season 17th overall in the Pro Stock Truck standings.

Bart has founded and owned several businesses over the past several years, and in his spare time he enjoys flying, fishing and hunting.
