Greg began driving at the young age of fifteen, back in the early 1980’s. Success came quickly for Greg, proven by his second place finish in the Stock Eliminator World Championship in his first full year of racing. He then decided to move up a level in the category, trading in his Camaro for a Super Stocker. Greg continued to have success in the Super Stock category, winning numerous National and Divisional titles. Greg was crowned World Champion four out of five years from 1990 to 1995, which is a record unto itself.
In 1996, Greg again decided to move up another level, this time to Competition Eliminator. Again, the transition came naturally for Greg, as he drove his way to another National Event win and several Divisional titles. In both 1996 and 1997, he was a finalist for the World Championship in Competition Eliminator.
In 1999, he moved up again, this time to the professional Pro Stock Truck category. On October 7, 2000 in Memphis, Greg became one of the fastest drivers in the category, running 180.69 mph. Greg’s first Pro Stock Truck win came at the prestigious Auto Club Nationals at Pomona in November 2000. Greg finished the 2000 season 5th overall in the Pro Stock Truck standings.
